Our team presents observational evidence of reduced rates of occurrence of cardiovascular, neurological and endocrine comorbidities of OSA after upper airway surgery when compared with CPAP prescription alone. It expands on the findings of an emerging body of literature evaluating clinically meaningful health-related outcomes, and shed additional light on the value of surgical interventions in the treatment of OSA.

The evidence guiding the use of antibiotics after upper airway surgery is sparse. Our team analyzed a robust body of evidence and suggest a potential protective role of antibiotic prescription in minimizing complication rates, including less bleeding (postoperative and secondary),pneumonia, airway issues, and hospital readmission within 30 days postoperatively.
