Friday, June 12
Stanford Biosciences PhD Graduation Reception
4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Stanford Faculty Club
This festive cocktail reception for graduating PhD students and their guests will feature appetizers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, music, and toasts to the graduates. Advance registration is required; eligible participants will receive an invitation to register prior to the event date.

Gates open at 9:00 a.m.
Baccalaureate at Stanford is a celebratory gathering for graduating seniors, graduate students, and professional students, as well as their families and friends. This gathering is part of Commencement weekend and is a bookend to the Opening Convocation held four years earlier.
Lerone A. Martin, who is director of Stanford’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute and a prominent scholar in religious studies, will deliver the University’s 2026 Baccalaureate address.

School of Medicine Graduation Brunch

Graduates may bring up to nine additional guests to the brunch. Tickets and wristbands are required to enter the event and will be distrubuted to graduates in June.

There is no limit to the number of guests who can attend the ceremony. Tickets are required to enter the event and graduates must register all their guests. Electronic tickets will be distributed to registered guests in June. More information will be sent soon.
Keynote Speaker
Lily Sarafan
Lily Sarafan is Chair of the Stanford University Board of Trustees and a Stanford alumna, holding both a bachelor's degree in science, technology and society and a master's degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University. She is the cofounder and former CEO of TheKey, a leading in-home senior care provider she grew from a startup to a company of more than 10,000 employees over nearly two decades. A deeply engaged member of the Stanford community, she is a founding partner of Project BIG: The Stanford Brain Immune Gut Initiative and has served on numerous university boards, councils, and committees. She has been recognized as a Fortune 40 Under 40 honoree in healthcare, a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and Woman of the Year by Women Health Care Executives.
MSPA Student Speaker
Taylor Blow, MS, PA Studies
Taylor Blow is a Massachusetts native and received her bachelor's degree in public health from UMass Amherst. During her time at Stanford, she served as Vice President of the Stanford University Physician Assistant Student Association and as Treasurer of the Stanford School of Medicine Student Association for Military Affairs. LTJG Blow is a U.S. Navy Officer and will begin her service as a Physician Assistant with the Marine Corps in South Carolina following graduation.
MS Student Speaker
Evelyn Kim, MD, MS, Clinical Informatics Management
Evelyn Kim is an Emergency Physician from Portland, Oregon. She serves as president of a large, independent physician practice. She received her medical degree from USF Health Morsani College of Medicine and has a BA in English Literature from Duke University. She is graduating with her master’s in Clinical Informatics Management and will use her newfound skills to improve care delivery for patients who are most in need.
PhD Student Speaker
Gabriel Barrón, PhD, Immunology
Gabriel Barrón, PhD, just completed his doctorate in immunology in the Howitt Lab at Stanford, supported by the Ford Foundation Predoctoral, Bio-X, and DARE fellowships. His research focused on how the gut's immune system senses the microbial world. This July, he begins a postdoctoral fellowship at Genentech with Drs. Jason Rock and Soren Müller. He believes the best science happens in community and across difference.
MD Student Speaker
Georgiana Burnside, Medicine
Georgiana Burnside, originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, is a graduating medical student at Stanford School of Medicine, where she pursued interests in neuro-oncology research, medical education, and disability advocacy. Drawing on her own experience with spinal cord injury, she has dedicated much of her time to mentorship and advancing accessibility in medicine. Georgiana will continue her training at Stanford in anesthesiology residency, with hopes of pursuing a career in critical care medicine.
Sunday, June 14
Stanford University Commencement
Stanford Medicine faculty and graduates are encouraged to attend Stanford's Commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 14, in Stanford Stadium. The 2026 Commencement address will be delivered by Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, MS ’95.
Tickets are required. Eligible graduates were sent an email with instructions on how to register themselves and their guests.
Gates open at 7:30 a.m.
Ceremony 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
