  • Pediatric Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma Consortium Study: cHOD17

    This is a phase II study using risk and response-adapted therapy for low, intermediate and high risk classical Hodgkin lymphoma. Chemotherapy regimens will be based on risk group assignment. Low-risk and intermediate- risk patients will be treated with bendamustine, etoposide, Adriamycin® (doxorubicin), bleomycin, Oncovin® (vincristine), vinblastine, and prednisone (BEABOVP) chemotherapy. High-risk patients will receive Adcetris® (brentuximab vedotin), etoposide, prednisone and Adriamycin® (doxorubicin) (AEPA) and cyclophosphamide, Adcetris® (brentuximab vedotin), prednisone and Dacarbazine® (DTIC) (CAPDac) chemotherapy. Residual node radiotherapy will be given at the end of all chemotherapy only to involved nodes that do not have an adequate response (AR) after 2 cycles of therapy for all risk groups.

  • Pulmonary Hypertension Association Registry

    The PHA Registry (PHAR) is a national study about people who have pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). PHAR collects information from people with PAH and CTEPH who are cared for in participating PHA-accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Care Centers throughout the U.S.

    PHAR will determine how people with PAH and CTEPH are evaluated, tested, and treated, and will observe how well these participants do. The goal is to see if people with PH are treated according to recommended guidelines, and to see if there are certain factors that can lead to better or worse outcomes.

    PHAR will include information about people with PAH and CTEPH in the U.S. who are seen at participating PHA-accredited PH Care Centers. PHAR contains data about patient care and outcomes. Specifically, data in the PHAR includes information on diagnosis; clinical status; socioeconomic status; diagnosis test results; body size; treatment information; interest in participating in clinical trials; family health and social history; and information about smoking, alcohol, or drug use. Participants are followed over time, and provide updates such as changes in therapy, how often participants need to go to the hospital, and survival. Such information may help healthcare providers provide better care.

  • The Role of Secondary Bile Acids in Intestinal Inflammation

    The cause of Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is unknown, but intestinal bacteria-involved in the production of molecules that impact health-are widely accepted to play a key role. A significant proportion of IBD patients with pouches (surgically created rectums after the diseased colon is removed) continue to have inflammation similar to their previous disease.

    Only a few microbes are known to have the capability to modify primary bile acids (PBAs) made by the liver to secondary bile acids (SBAs). SBAs are some of the most common metabolites in the colon and play key roles in several diseases.

    In this study the investigators will investigate if ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) may reduce inflammatory markers and improve quality of life (as assessed by validate survey) in those subjects with active antibiotic refractory or antibiotic dependent pouchitis.

  • Temozolomide, Vincristine, and Irinotecan in Treating Young Patients With Refractory Solid Tumors

    RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, vincristine, and irinotecan, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells.

    PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of irinotecan when given together with temozolomide and vincristine in treating young patients with refractory solid tumors.

  • School Water Access, Food and Beverage Intake, and Obesity

    It is widely argued that the promotion of water consumption, as an alternative to sugar-sweetened beverages, can assist in childhood obesity prevention efforts. Yet no studies have tested this argument in real world schools where flavored milk or juices are available. This trial will fill gaps by examining how promoting fresh water intake-both in schools that do and do not provide access to caloric beverages -impacts children's consumption of food and beverages both during and outside of school, and obesity.

  • Switching to Duloxetine to Ameliorate SSRI-Induced Sexual Dysfunction

    Sexual dysfunction is a common side effect of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). The hypotheses of this study are that:1. subjects with major depression or dysthymia who are being treated with an SSRI and experiencing treatment-related sexual dysfunction will experience less sexual dysfunction if they are switched to duloxetine, and 2. they will experience either improved antidepressant response or no loss of antidepressant response.

  • Trametinib in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia

    This phase II trial studies how well trametinib works in treating patients with juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia that has come back (relapsed) or does not respond to treatment (refractory). Trametinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

  • Quality of Life in Adults Impaired Functioning - A Randomized Controlled Trial of Bidet vs Usual Toileting

    Our expectations (hypotheses) are:

    Primary outcome

    1. Regular bidet use will improve quality of life around elimination in adults with impaired functional status. Functional status will be measured by activities of daily living (ADL).

    2. Regular bidet use by adults with impaired functional status will improve the quality of life around toileting for their caregivers.

    Secondary

    3. Regular bidet use will reduce the incidence, frequency and severity of constipation (as measured by self-report) in adults with impaired functional status.

    4. Regular bidet use will reduce the incidence of urinary tract infection (UTI) in adult women with impaired functional status.

  • The VITAL Amyloidosis Study, a Global Phase 3, Efficacy and Safety Study of NEOD001 in Patients With AL Amyloidosis

    This is a multi-center, international, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, two-arm efficacy and safety study in subjects newly diagnosed with AL amyloidosis. Subjects will remain on-study until study completion, which will occur when all primary endpoint events (all-cause mortality or cardiac hospitalizations) have been reached.

  • Safety and Pharmacology Study of Atezolizumab Alone and in Combination With Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) in High-Risk Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC) Participants

    This Phase Ib/II study is designed to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, patient reported outcomes (PROs), and preliminary anti-tumor activity of atezolizumab administered by intravenous (IV) infusion alone and in combination with intravesical BCG in high-risk NMIBC participants. The study will be conducted in following cohorts: Cohort 1A, Cohort 1B, Cohort 2, and Cohort 3. Atezolizumab will be administered at a fixed dose of 1200 milligrams (mg) every 3 weeks (q3w) for a maximum of 96 weeks. BCG will be administered to evaluate dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs), maximum tolerated dose (MTD), or maximum administered dose (MAD). De-escalation will be allowed for up to three dose levels of BCG (full dose [50 mg], 66 percent [%] of a full dose, and 33% of a full dose [Cohort 1B only]). After the MTD or MAD is determined for Cohort 1B, this dose will be used for all subsequent participants enrolled into Cohorts 1B, 2, and 3, unless the MTD is determined to be 33% of a full BCG dose. If MTD is determined to be 33% of a full BCG dose, then, no participants will be enrolled into Cohorts 2 and 3 until an assessment of the safety and activity of the combination of atezolizumab plus 33% of a full BCG dose is completed.

  • Transvaginal Botulinum Toxin A for Interstitial Cystitis / Bladder Pain Syndrome

    Interstitial cystitis / bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is a debilitating condition that affects millions of women in the United States. Women suffer from recurring pelvic pain, bladder pressure, painful bladder, urinary frequency (needing to go often) and urgency (feeling a strong need to go). Women are five times more likely to suffer from IC/BPS than men. IC/BPS is a common cause of painful bladder after excluding urinary tract infection. About one-third of women resort to opioids, thus contributing to the current opioid crisis. Sadly, there are no durable treatments and the majority of therapies are not FDA-approved for IC/BPS.

  • To Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy for GORE TAG Thoracic Endoprosthesis in the Treatment of Thoracic Aortic Disease

    PURPOSE OF RESEARCH:

    Endovascular stent-graft repair of aortic pathologies is a minimally-invasive alternative to open surgery that may decrease morbidity and mortality, particularly in high risk patients. Optimal patient selection, based on pathology and anatomy, is being defined. Technically successful implantation requires adequate assessment of pathology and anatomy, and development and execution of novel and delicate procedures that resolve the pathology while minimizing morbidity and mortality.

  • Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetics of MRG-106 in Patients With Mycosis Fungoides (MF), CLL, DLBCL or ATLL

    Objectives of this clinical trial are to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and potential efficacy of the investigational drug, cobomarsen (MRG-106), in patients diagnosed with certain lymphomas and leukemias, including cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) [mycosis fungoides (MF) subtype], chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) [activated B-cell (ABC) subtype], and adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL). Cobomarsen is an inhibitor of a molecule called miR-155 that is found at high levels in these types of cancers and may be important in promoting the growth and survival of the cancer cells. Participants in the clinical trial will receive weekly doses of cobomarsen administered by injection under the skin or into a vein, or by injection directly into cancerous lesions in the skin (for CTCL only). Blood samples will be collected to measure how cobomarsen is processed by the body, and other measurements will be performed to study how normal and cancerous cells of the immune system respond when exposed to cobomarsen.
