Welcome to the Pitteri Lab at Stanford

The Pitteri Lab uses biological mass spectrometry to study proteins and post-translational modifications that are altered with disease state, particularly cancer.  We interrogate a variety of complex sample types including tissue, serum/plasma, cells, and proximal fluids.  We develop and apply methods to clinical samples with the goal of improving early detection of aggressive cancers by understanding the underlying molecular and biological pathways affected by disease.  We also develop and apply methods to study protein glycosylation in a variety of sample types to better understand and exploit aberrant glycosylation in cancer.
