Stanford Otolaryngology — Head & Neck Surgery Department

Applicants must be medical students (from any US medical school), and must be sponsored by a Stanford faculty member. Applicants will be considered based on 1) their research proposal and relevance to communication disorders, 2) strength of their training and mentoring plan; and 3) potential to pursue academics and become a physician-scientist. Trainees must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, as required by the NIH-NIDCD.

Our CSTP medical student research track training is full-time for up to nine months. If the proposed training is less than nine months or there will be additional responsibilities (teaching assistantships, clinical training), the applicant should discuss project feasibility with the PI and obtain approval from CSTP leadership.

1) Research plan (max 3 pages), 2) letter of recommendation from Stanford faculty describing training/mentoring plan, the candidacy of the applicant, and potential to become a physician-scientist, 3) curriculum vitae, and 4) Appendix (optional).

Institutional representative: not applicable. Applicants do not need to submit their proposal through an institutional official for review and approval. Please submit proposals directly via the online application link. PI waivers are not required.
