Stanford Center for Peripheral Nerve Surgery
At the Stanford Center for Peripheral Nerve Surgery, our goal is to capitalize on the expertise of specialists from multiple fields of medicine to develop a customized treatment plan to address the needs of each individual patient. We utilize the latest diagnostic techniques and surgical strategies to restore function and minimize pain for patients with peripheral nerve disorders. Our team of experts takes a multi-disciplinary approach to maximize outcomes, while constantly striving to improve the patient experience. By working as a team, we can coordinate diagnostic testing and clinical evaluation, and by partnering with referring physicians, we ensure there is no unnecessary duplication of testing. Driven by discovery and the desire to see the best for our patients, every day we expand the limits of what is possible through our basic and translational research, our focus on strengthening imaging capabilities and diagnostics, by improving our understanding of disease, and enhancing surgical techniques.

Research and Clinical Trials
The Center for Peripheral Nerve Surgery utilizes a multi-faceted research approach ranging from basic/translational research to clinical trials to clinical outcomes research. Our goal is to improve the treatments available to patients with peripheral nerve pathologies. Our current research focuses on advanced imaging techniques such as Stimulated Raman Histology to develop improved intraoperative decision-making, attempting to understand the growth pattern of nerve sheath tumors (schwannomas and neurofibromas), and the evaluation of an approved device (Neurocap) for the treatment of nerve pain secondary to neuromas through a post-approval clinical trial.
