Greenstone Biosciences (Palo Alto, CA) is a health care company dedicated to drug discovery and headquartered at the Alexandria Center for Life Sciences at Stanford Research Park. Using its unique drug discovery pipeline comprised of Artificial Intelligence, virtual screening, molecular docking, high throughput multi-omics sequencing, and human derived induced pluripotent stem cell technologies (hiPSCs), Greenstone Biosciences aims to develop novel drug therapeutics to achieve precision medicine and precision health. This position will work with an interdisciplinary group to develop the Artificial Intelligence driven computational drug discovery pipeline. Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computational Biology, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Biological Sciences, Physics, or equivalent preparation and experience. A cellular biology postdoc position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Pierce. Research in the Pierce group focuses on endothelial cell dysfunction in acutely critically ill children. Our work is highly translational and collaborative with immediate relevance to human diseases, such as shock and acute respiratory distress syndrome. We leverage samples from critically ill children to identify genetic and molecular targets to investigate in cultured primary human endothelial cells and ex vivo perfused organs. Open projects involve investigating the mechanisms of trans- and paracellular endothelial permeability changes (capillary leak) in primary human endothelial cell cultures.
The University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and University of Ottawa Brain and Mind Institute, together with collaborating institutions, are seeking exceptional candidates in the field of cardiovascular or neuroscience or linked brain-heart research, to lead major ambitious research programs in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Ottawa is one of the most livable and well-educated cities in the world. The qualified candidate will be supported by independent tenure-track salary and additional infrastructure support. For exceptionally qualified candidate, there can be additional support from the recently launched Canada Excellence Research Chairs (CERC) program, aimed to enable leading edge scientist to build a multidisciplinary globally leading research program with awards of $4 million-$8 million over up to eight years (https://www.cerc.gc.ca/home-accueil-eng.aspx). If interested, please contact Dr. Peter Liu at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (email@example.com OR firstname.lastname@example.org) as soon as possible.
