Bladder Basics

Introducing Bladder Basics, a captivating animated course on bladder health for kids aged 5-10! Join Dr. Kan, Bladdimir the talking bladder, and their friends in this interactive play in which learners will laugh, sing, and learn what a bladder is, what makes a bladder unhappy, what makes a bladder happy, and how to create and start a bladder health journey. Additional resources are available for parents and caregivers. Developed in partnership with Kan Lab, Stanford Healthcare's Pediatric Urology clinic.

Clinicians and Firearms

Clinicians and Firearms is a curriculum developed by medical students, faculty, and practicing clinicians to bridge the gap in medical education to address gun violence as a public health epidemic. This course is intended primarily for medical students, physicians, and other healthcare providers to understand the current state of gun violence in the United States, basic firearm terminology, and what we can do in the healthcare setting to prevent firearm injury for our patients.
Gender Affirming Communication in Healthcare

The Gender-Affirming Communication in Healthcare course provides foundational knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the respectful and safe care of transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) patients. The course defines the value of gender affirmation and includes simple tips to listen, ask the right questions, and make patients feel seen. This hour-long content is for all staff in the healthcare setting. |
Population Health

This course defines population health, determinants of health, and the built environment; uses a socio-ecological model to organize different layers of determinants of health outcomes, recognizes major payors in the US healthcare system; and has some practical tips to address disparities in health outcomes across populations. Edtech’s work in creating this course included taking existing content and aligning it with the learning pathways that are defined in the SOM curriculum.
Mastering Leadership

Holding difficult conversations is a necessary, powerful, and under-practiced skill for anyone interested in leadership. This hands-on lesson will help you acquire the knowledge of an effective approach that enables you to confidently initiate, lead, and conclude difficult conversations from the position of managing up or managing down in an academic medicine environment. Key considerations include being aware of power dynamics and increasing your ability to set priorities so that you can advocate for what you want and need.
Coaching Skills

Coaching is a valuable tool for healthcare professionals who are used to the structured environment of academic medicine. This course, which features fun role play and evidence-based didactic videos, will give medicine faculty mentors and advisors the tools and confidence to successfully deploy coaching strategies with their coachees—hopefully helping decrease burnout and foster growth mindsets.
Reproductive Health Block

This recently launched UME course on Reproductive Health Female Anatomy at the Stanford School of Medicine aims to provide students with a foundational knowledge of female reproductive health anatomy and histology. The course project focuses on redesigning the online course materials to enhance interactive and memorable learning experiences for students.
