Overview

Stanford Medicine users across Stanford Health Care, Stanford Children's Health and the School of Medicine now have secure access to their files anywhere, anytime, and on any device through the cloud using Box.

Box supports creation, management, and collaboration for documents that have been written in common desktop  tools (for example, Microsoft Word, Excel), and includes a drag and drop interface and versioning.

Using Box, you can share project materials with teams across Stanford Medicine, prepare collaborative grants, share clinical schedules and residency applications, access department or lab documents from anywhere in the world, archive old research and store HR and student records.

Getting started

A Stanford Medicine Box account has already been created for you. Eligible faculty, staff and students can go to stanfordmedicine.box.com, click Continue and follow the steps from the login guide. Ensure that you log in using the credentials associated with your organization (SID, network User Name, or SUNet ID).

Features

  • Single sign-on using your Stanford University SUNet ID, Stanford Health Care Enterprise ID (SID), or Stanford Children's Health Username
  • Document sharing and collaboration with Box users within and external to Stanford Medicine

Data Security

  • Stanford Medicine Box may be used to store all data types including Protected Health Information (PHI) or personally identifiable information (PII). Look for the Safe for PHI & PII label:

     

  • Stanford Medicine Box can only be accessed from a verifiably encrypted and password-protected computer or mobile device.
