Breeding Colony Management Services (BCMS)
Welcome to Breeding Colony Management Services, supporting your research colony's daily operations. We offer mating, separating, weaning, genotyping, transfers, euthanasia, and coverage during Stanford holidays and lab vacations.
We are a cost recovery service and only charge the actual time our colony managers are working on your colony. On average, the cost is $100-150 per breeder cage per month. Genotyping requirement is the biggest factor in the cost estimate. The cost covers all aspects of colony management as described above. Colony services are charged at 15 minutes minimum under the AC4 rate. For more information, review the "Check Estimates" worksheet to evaluate approximate costs to have breeder cages set up.
