What Do I Do After Asking? | Positive Reinforcements

Overview

According to national tobacco usage data, 1 in 5 high schoolers self-reported that they currently use or have used an e-cigarette/vape product in the past 30 days. 1 in 20 middle schoolers reported the same.

The majority of young people are not using e-cigarettes/vapes; the same is true for cannabis use. Therefore, it's crucial to encourage young people who are cannabis-free and tobacco-free to remain substance-free.

Positive Reinforcement & Harm Reduction

Example Script:

Teens who depend on cannabis risk having their hierarchy of survival hijacked and producing less natural dopamine in their brain. What I hope you take away is that you are more in control of your brain development than you might realize.

If you aren’t using cannabis, you might consider not starting to use and/or waiting until your brain is done developing (around the age of 23) to decide whether or not you want to use it.

If you are using cannabis, you might consider stopping until your brain is done developing or reducing how much you use.
