Welcome to the Stanford Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship program.

The aim of our program is to train cardiothoracic radiologists with the highest level of clinical expertise who will become future leaders in the field. The one-year fellowship is designed to be a well-balanced academic training program that encompasses all the basic and advanced clinical and research areas of cardiothoracic imaging. Our clinical practice centered in the new Stanford Hospital, which opened in 2019, is rich in clinical case material due to our quaternary practice and particular subspecialty strengths in interstitial lung disease, thoracic oncology, and organ transplantation. Fellows will be exposed to all imaging modalities used to evaluate cardiothoracic disease using state-of-the-art equipment including photon-counting CT scanners.

Approximately 20% of time during the training year is set aside for scholarly activities. Fellows are encouraged to participate in clinical research and educational projects that are done under the supervision and tutelage of cardiothoracic faculty members. Ongoing clinical interests of faculty section members include CT lung cancer screening, implementation of AI algorithms into radiology clinical workflow, and CT dose reduction.

Stanford University is located in Palo Alto, the heart of Silicon Valley with a vibrant, diverse, and intellectually open community that fosters innovation and discovery.
