Cardiovascular 4D MRI: Flow in Context

Abstract:

Dynamic flow visualization and quantification with cardiac MR has opened the door to re-thinking old assumptions and defining cardiovascular disease in new ways. Progress in the 4D flow field has been rapid; it now touches many questions in the clinical realm, where reliability and iterative improvements become critical. The ongoing successes and frustrations of 4D flow MRI are a model for the development of other advanced visualization approaches.

Atilla Kiraly

AI for Healthcare Imaging

Abstract:

Machine learning (ML) demonstrates promise in situations having a large amount of data to examine and a shortage of expertise. In medicine, especially radiology, this is increasingly the case facing doctors involved in screening or routine imaging programs. The rise of chronic disease incidences like cancer and diabetes create additional burdens. This talk reviews three examples were our ML research shows promise in helping with a focus on our recent work on lung cancer screening.
