1. Are you accepting participants worldwide?
A: We are currently only accepting participants from the US.
2. Are you accepting participants from all over the US?
A:We will prioritize participants that are local, however we are open to enrollment across the US.
3. How can I sign up to participate?
A: You can add yourself to our participant registry at the following link: https://redcap.stanford.edu/surveys/?s=T8EFACWXFAX8Y94D.
At the end of the survey, you will be told by the participant registry whether you may be eligible for any of our studies. Keep in mind that this is a general eligibility questionnaire and will therefore only inform you about your overall eligibility. To confirm your eligibility for a specific study we will reach out to you via “secure” email and require that you sign a consent form and provide us with access to your medical record.
4. I completed the participant registry questionnaire for your studies online and the registry told me that I may qualify. Now what?
A: If the questionnaire tells you that you may be eligible for one of our studies, this does not mean that you will be enrolled automatically. The participant registry is only a general eligibility questionnaire and will therefore only inform you about your overall eligibility for any of our ongoing studies. To confirm your eligibility for a specific study we will reach out to via “secure” email and require that you sign a consent form and provide us with access to your medical record. Please do not reach out to us. You can rest assured that once we are open to enrollment, we will reach out to you if we have a study that may be a good fit for you.
5. I completed the participant registry questionnaire for your studies and the registry told me that I do not qualify. Now what?
A: If after you have completed our participant registry questionnaire the survey tells you that you do not qualify for our studies you can choose to either allow us to keep your information in case we develop a new study that you may qualify for in the future, or you can choose to destroy your submission and pursue different options.
6. Do I have to tell my doctor if I want to enroll in your study?
A: We strongly encourage you to inform your doctor if you are considering registering for any study.
7. Are you enrolling participants who have undergone Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery?
A: We are currently not enrolling participants who have undergone DBS.
8. Will I have to come to Stanford in person?
A: Yes. We currently require that participants come to Stanford in person for all our studies.
9. Can I buy the device?
A: The device that we use is currently in the investigational stage and is therefore only available for use for research participants.
10. When will the gloves be FDA approved?
A: At this point in time, we are unsure of when our device will be FDA approved. We are in the process of properly developing the treatment by running several studies. The commencement date of an FDA approval trial will be announced on this website as soon as applicable.
11. Do you see patients?
A: We only see patients who are enrolled in one of our studies. We do not have an open clinic for treating patients who are not enrolled in any of our studies. 12. I received a secure email. How do I open it?
A: Members of the Stanford community use the Secure Email service to transmit sensitive data, including Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with the HIPAA guidelines. The indication that you have received a secure email is that the subject of the message will contain "Secure:"
