An Overview of Treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease by Dr. Steven Chao
In this seminar, Dr. Chao will review the basic pathology of Alzheimer’s disease and the history of medical treatment for dementia. He will discuss the newly FDA approved antiamyloid antibody treatment including its mechanism of action, efficacy, and side effects.
Note: Dr. Chao previously presented on this topic in March 2024. Seminar will cover the same content and will include additional updates on new treatments.

Steven Chao, M.D., Ph.D. is a staff neurologist at VA Palo Alto and with an appointment at the Stanford Department of Neurology as a clinical professor (affiliated). His current research interest is in early imaging diagnosis of dementia and early treatment/prevention of Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive treatment in traumatic brain injury, and alternative treatments for headache.
