Application FAQs

I was (or am) an undergraduate at Stanford University and would like to apply to a graduate program. What do I need to submit?

Stanford graduates follow the same application procedures as other applicants, including requesting that transcripts be sent to the department or program to which one is applying (you may do so on Axess through the Student Services Center.)

Are application fees refundable?
Application fees are not refundable. However, prospective students can apply for an Application Fee Waiver (Applications open in mid-Septemberr).

Are the students financially supported in the program?

The SCBRM program provides guarantees stipend and tuition support throughout graduate training. Independent fellowships are encouraged. The Program also includes training in how to prepare and submit grant applications and many students successfully acquire independent funding.

Am I eligible for financial support if I am outside the US?

Yes, all students, both inside and outside the US, are eligible.

What are the GRE Requirements?

GRE General Test and Subject Test are both not considered.

If I have taken graduate level courses or already have an advanced degree, such as an MD degree or equivalent, are any of my credits transferable?

All students are required to complete the core curriculum but may petition the SCBRM program to substitute course work to meet career goals. Decisions will be made on an individual basis.
