The autoMACS® Pro Separator is a bench-top instrument for high-speed magnetic cell sorting using MACS® Technology from Miltenyi Biotec. Employing automatic magnetic labeling and sensor-controlled processing, the system is designed to isolate cells from multiple samples in a fully automated walk-away fashion.
The autoMACS® Pro compliments the capabilities of a flow core via pre-enrichment of cell subsets prior to flow sorting and analysis. This is especially useful for rare cell populations, which often require long sort times. When rare cells are pre-enriched by the autoMACS® Pro, subsequent flow rates on FACS instruments may be decreased, which leads to decreased system pressure and decreased abort rates. The incorporation of the autoMACS® Pro into a flow sorting workflow can lead to improved cell viability and higher yield with lower overall sorting and analysis times.
