When is orientation for new staff members?
Orientation for new staff members is held every Monday from 8:45 AM to 2:15 PM at 255 Panama Street, Polya Hall- Room: 111.

What is an Exempt employee?
Certain employees (usually salaried employees) are exempt from governmental regulations regarding compensation for overtime work in certain positions as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. University employees who are exempt are not entitled to overtime pay.

What is a Non-Exempt employee?
Non-exempt employees receive hourly wages; they are subject to wage and hour laws, i.e. overtime pay. This term usually applies to non-professional employees.

What if I have questions about US Visas?

What if I am a new postdoc?
All new postdocs should complete the postdocs checklist. Orientation for new postdocs is held every Thursday morning, 9:00 - 11:45 a.m., at 1215 Welch Road, Modular A, Room 62.

How do I request a SUNet ID?
In order to request a SUNet ID, you will first need your Stanford ID number, which is issued by Human Resources. The website link for requesting a SUNet ID is http://accounts.stanford.edu/

How Do I Get a Stanford ID Card? Take your email from HR (with your Stanford ID number) and a piece of photo identification to the Stanford Card Office. Directions to the office and other information about the requirements for getting a Stanford photo ID are available on the Card Office website.
