Modifying an existing Data Privacy Attestation

If you already have an open modification, go to Step 2.

Step 1 - Start a Modification of your IRB Protocol

To start a modification of an approved IRB Protocol, browse to https://eprotocol.stanford.edu/mydashboard, locate the protocol in the list of active protocols, and and click the "Start Modification" menu item under the "More Actions and Docs" menu on the far right.

Note that opening a modification will move this protocol out of your Active Protocols list and into a new list called "Action Items" higher up on the page.

Step 2- Open the Data Privacy Attestation Dashboard

Open the Data Privacy Attestation dashboard, then scroll or search to find the entry corresponding to your IRB. Click on the "View Full Attestation" link.

Open the Data Privacy Attestation dashboard, then scroll or search to find the entry corresponding to your IRB. Click on the "View Full Attestation" link.

You should see an "Edit" button at the top of the page.

If you do not see an Edit button, you need to ask Privacy to withdraw their approval. Instructions on how to reach Privacy are available on the Stanford Privacy web site.

Now click the "Edit" button at the top of the page. This will put you into a famililar looking survey page, in which you can change your selections.

You will need to re-attest to your obligations to protect the privacy of this sensitive data.

Don't forget to click "Submit" at the bottom of the page when you are done.

Once you have submitted your changes, you can notify the IRB that your DPA has been updated.
