Hub Liaison Team

The Hub Liaison Team (HLT) ensures a seamless integration of CTSA Hubs to participate in and carry out multisite high-quality, efficient, compliant, and coordinated clinical trials. HLT focuses on implementing a series of enhancements and improvements to our existing clinical research programs and supporting infrastructure by leveraging the Trial Innovation Network (TIN) and its associated Trial Innovation and Recruitment Innovation Centers.

Faculty Lead

Kenneth Mahaffey, MD

Liaison to Trial Innovation Network (TIN)

The trial innovation network is a CTSA program funded to support multi-site (three or more sites) as well as decentralized clinical research. The TIN leverages the talent, expertise, and resources of the CTSA Consortium and acts as a national laboratory to study, understand, and improve multi-site trials. The Hub Liaison Team (HLT) can connect investigators with multi-site studies initiated by other network sites, or Stanford investigators may submit proposals for multi-site or decentralized clinical studies to the TIN. The HLT will work with you from initial consultation through trial implementation.

Participant Engagement Program

PEP helps researchers meet their participant recruitment and retention goals, with a focus on engaging participants as partners in research. In addition to providing recruitment consultations, the team manages the PEP Platform consisting of honest broker Direct Email, Epic MyChart, and Postal Mail study invitations. Other resources include the Stanford Research Registry (a database of individuals interested in being contacted for research) and a partnership with StudyPages, enabling online participant management and communication tools. The PEP team assists with cohort exploration, designing recruitment plans, review of recruitment materials, and community engagement.
