Research Participation
Community Engagement and Outreach
The School of Medicine’s Office of Community Engagement (OCE) provides leadership, resources, valuable guidance for Stanford researchers, centers, and departments through short- and long-term technical assistance and activities throughout the year.
Technical Assistance
Short-term Technical Assistance
OCE provides an array of complementary and fee-based technical assistance and consultation services to faculty, trainees, and community partners. To maximize effectiveness, please connect with OCE as early in the research process as possible.
Long-term Technical Assistance
OCE provides community engagement services and staffing on projects requiring more in-depth community engagement.
Community Engagement Seed Grantees are offered one year of free, in-depth or long-term technical assistance to spur growth for projects to generate future funding and research.
Community Guidance and Feedback
OCE works with Stanford’s Community Advisory Board (CAB) for Clinical Research, a board that works to:
- Enable community members to participate in research planning and dissemination of findings.
- Provide feedback to researchers on recruitment strategies, including reaching specific populations.
Researchers receive direct feedback and guidance at CAB meetings and are provided a summary of the meeting discussion.
