Description
This clerkship offers a comprehensive experience in sleep medicine not only for those interested in pursuing careers in internal medicine and family practice, but also those interested in specialties such as neurology, otolaryngology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and pulmonology. Students shadow sleep specialists in their evaluation of patients with sleep disorders, and review polysomnography (sleep studies) of patients with sleep disorders. Students will be offered the opportunity to attend informal discussions and case conferences regarding less common sleep disorders identified in patients; formal conferences on sleep research, sleep surgery, and sleep disorders; and journal club reviews of topical articles on sleep and sleep disorders.
