Jieming Qu, MD, PhD

Professor of Respiratory Medicine & President, Ruijin Hospital Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine

Professor Jieming Qu obtained his M.D. from Shandong Medical University in 1986, and has been working in Zhongshan Hospital and Huadong Hospital (both affiliated to Fudan University) until 2010.Then he was promoted to Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau playing a key role in Shanghai health reform. Professor Qu joined Ruijin Hospital Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine as President in August 2014. He is Vice Chairman of Chest Physicians Society of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, consultant to Chinese Society of Disaster Medicine, a Standing Committee member of Chinese Society of Respiratory Diseases, and Professor Qu is one of the Shanghai Leading Talent (No. 036, 2010), Deputy Director of Shanghai Institute of Respiratory Diseases and Vice Chairman of both Shanghai Medical Association and Shanghai Hospital Association.

Professor Qu is Chief Physician in Respiratory Medicine and doctoral supervisor in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has successfully managed over ten projects among which five are supported by NSFC(National Natural Science Foundation of China) and two are supported by NKBR (National Key Basic Research). Professor Qu has published over 250 papers on prestigious internationally peer-reviewed journals (total IF: 156).Professor Qu has published 7 academic monographs as the co-editor-in-chief and the associate-editors. He is the deputy editors of three medical science journals: Chinese Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Chinese Journal of Clinical Medicine and Shanghai Medical Journal, and also on the editorial boards on several academic journals. Owing to his outstanding accomplishment, he has achieved a number of awards and honors, e.g. the Science and Technology Progress Award of China Ministry of Education (for repeated times), 2nd Prize of Shanghai Silver Snake Award, etc.
