Bringing Research to Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley
If you are a faculty member interested in using SHC Tri-Valley as a site for your study, please follow these steps:
- Complete the Intake Form: This allows us to provide you with the appropriate guidance.
- Meeting Setup: If needed, SHC Tri-Valley Research Office member will reach out to schedule a meeting.
Important Steps for Conducting Human Subject Research at SHC TV
Approval and Monitoring Process- Before initiating a research study at SHC-TV, the following approval, oversight, and monitoring stages may be required:
Part I - Feasibility Assessment & Approval
Part II - Study start-up checklist review and approval before participant enrollment. Ensure that the study team has completed all necessary processes before enrolling participants at the Tri-Valley location
Part III - Study monitoring and oversight (Quarterly check-in)
Part IV - Study Closeout
Expedited and Full board review studies: These studies will need to go through the approval and monitoring process. Please attach the e-protocol application and IRB determination letter if available when submitting the intake form to the research office.
Chart review or Exempt studies: If your study is a chart review or determined as exempt by the Stanford IRB, please provide the IRB determination letter when submitting the intake form as the study may not need to undergo the approval and monitoring process.
Human Subject Research Determination: If your study requires a “Determination of Human Subject Research,” please submit an application to the Stanford IRB.
