RITE: Realizing Improvement through Team Empowerment
Lauren Remer, PA-C
RITE Clinical Director
The RITE (Realizing Improvement through Team Empowerment) Program is an innovative training program that involves medical staff from many different disciplines (from nurses to physicians to therapists, etc) to provide the tools to start and implement performance projects in real time. Our vision is "when the people who do the work are taught and empowered to solve problems, you get better solutions, the front-line staff owns the process, and your problem-solving capability increases exponentially." The program leads teams through 10 two-hour biweekly training sessions over the course of five months in order to complete a successful data-driven quality improvement initiative. The objectives of each training session include building improvement leadership skills, understanding improvement methods, and applying methods to real projects. At the end of these 10 sessions, teams graduate the program and have a chance to present these project to key stakeholders at Stanford Tri-Valley.
