Education

At the Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley campus, we strive to uphold the educational mission of the Stanford School of Medicine. We are a main hub of education and training for students, residents, and fellows in the East Bay.

We have multiple award-winning educators and are excited to bring more world-class medical education opportunities to the East Bay. Check out the links below for more information.

Graduate Medical Education

Our Graduate Medical Education Office is led by Dr. Minjoung Go as DIO, and our Family Medicine residency program is led by Dr. David Quillen.

Family Medicine Residency

We are excited to welcome our first class of family medicine residents in July 2025.

Resident/Fellowship Electives

We provide an invaluable academic community medicine experience for Stanford residents and fellows across different specialties, including Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Pediatrics, and many more. We continue to expand our resident and fellowship rotations to other departments.

Physician Assistant Student Education

We serve as the main rotation site for the inpatient medicine clerkship for students in the Stanford Master of Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies. Students also rotate through various inpatient and outpatient core and elective rotations.

Visiting Students

We welcome applications for external rotations, we accommodate limited numbers of external medical students, physician assistant students, residents, and fellows per year depending on our provider capacity.

Community Outreach Education

As both an academic and community hospital, we are deeply integrated into the East Bay community and reach out to the public with community educational opportunities. We also host the popular annual SHC Tri-Valley Clinical Academy, a summer camp experience for high school students interested in medical sciences

Observership

Stanford Tri-Valley Hospital is pleased to offer a visiting observer opportunity through our Compliance Department. Observers must be 18 years or older and have a host to apply for this program.
