Membership Information

This membership form is designed to gather essential information about our prospective members. By joining, you become part of a community dedicated to 1) connecting retired SoM faculty with opportunities for continued learning, teaching, mentoring, and service 2) helping retired SoM faculty maintain their social and professional connections within Stanford, and 3) supporting senior faculty in their transition to retirement and their next chapter when they are ready.

Regular Member Eligibility

  • Current or former member of Stanford School of Medicine Faculty (all faculty lines) in good standing
  • Note: Membership activities are focused on senior and retired faculty
  • Requirements: Complete application form
     

Affiliate Membership Eligibility

  • Support the Academy’s mission and goals
  • May provide special expertise or special support
  • Not a current or former member of Stanford SoM faculty
  • Examples include Stanford administrators with vested SASM interest, Stanford faculty and administrators outside the SoM, and faculty, retired faculty and administrators from other institutions
  • Requirements:
    • Complete application form
    • Approval by SASM Board
       

Benefits of Membership

  • Notifications regarding opportunities for teaching, learning, mentoring, volunteering
  • Invitation to Academy-hosted events (e.g., scholarly activities, lectures and social engagements)
  • Access to information about mentoring opportunities with the school and university including groups and individuals
  • Opportunities for connecting with colleagues with similar interests
