Congratulations to Dr. Sean Wu for receiving the iAward from Sanofi USA, Inc. for studying the immune related adverse events in cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitor.
August 15, 2019
Congratulations to Han Zhu for receiving a 3 year NIH/NHLBI NRSA F32 Post-doctoral fellowship award to study the mechanism of myocarditis caused by treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer patients.
August 2, 2019
Congratulations to Will Goodyer and former lab members Benjamin Beyersdorf, Guang Li, Jan Buikema, Sneha Venkatraman for their paper on single cell transcriptomic profiling of the entire developing cardiac conduction system published in Circulation Research. This is the first report of transcriptomic profiling of cells in the cardiac conduction system at single cell resolution and identified many sinoatrial and atrial-ventricular node as well as Purkinje fiber-specific genes.

Congratulations to Dr. Sean Wu for receiving the multi-PI 5 year $10M RM1 team research funding from the NIH/NIGMS to address the effects of myosin heavy chain 7 mutations on muscle contractile function from molecules to cells to tissues. Dr. Wu’s role will be to examine the transcriptional changes in MYH7 mutant iPSC-CMs at different stages of development using single cell RNA sequencing technology.

Congratulations to Will Goodyer for being awarded a research grant from the SPARK Translational Research Program at Stanford. This award will support the use of antibodies specific for the cardiac conduction system to image and label the conduction system in vivo for avoidance of iatrogenic injury during congenital and adult heart surgeries.
