Congratulations to undergraduate research assistants Yuan Zhang (’17) and Daniel Hu ('17) for being selected as recipients of the Undergraduate Summer Research Award from the Stanford BIO-X program. Yuan will be working on growth factor signals regulation human iPSC-derived cardiomyocyte proliferation and cell-cycle re-entry. Daniel will be working on 3D tissue engineering using decellularized matrix and synthetic biomaterials and human iPS cell-derived cardiomyocytes.

Congratulations to undergraduate research assistants Nick Flores ('16) for being selected as recipients of the Departmental Major Award from the Stanford department of Biological Sciences for his summer research project on YY1 regulation of cardiac progenitor cell differentiation.

She will be spending a year at the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application in Kyoto, Japan before starting her Pathway training at Harvard Medical School in 2016.
