Tobacco-Free Campus Policy

Stanford University School of Medicine is a tobacco-free zone with no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere on its campus. This prohibition includes all enclosed buildings and facilities and all outdoor areas on the footprint of the School of Medicine, including the James H. Clark Center and all leased or owned facilities off campus.

Smoking cessation programs are available to the campus community through the following service centers:

"No Smoking or Vaping”" signs will be posted. Existing non-smoking signs can be modified by adding a “No Vaping Allowed” sticker. This policy relies on the consideration and cooperation of smokers and non-smokers. It is the responsibility of all members of the school community to serve and follow this policy and its guidelines. Faculty, staff and students repeatedly violating this policy may be subject to appropriate action to correct any violation(s) and prevent future occurrences.
