Support Group Update
For many years, the SF BASS (Bay Area Sarcoidosis Support) Group has met in person in varying locations around the Bay Area, including on Stanford’s campus. We had a strong group of patients and caregivers, and great guest speakers. When COVID-19 became part of our reality earlier this year, we had postponed our meetings until we learned more. We had hoped in person meetings could be part of our reality going forward, but given the ongoing nature of this pandemic, that is not likely happening in the near future. That said, there is a very active and informative support group online now through the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR). This support group has moderators from FSR, but is primarily lead by the worldwide sarcoidosis patient and caregiver community. You can find support on any manifestation of sarcoidosis and maybe find a ‘peer’ with a similar sarcoidosis journey. While we hope in person meetings may be our reality in the future, the FSR group online is a great way to get support through this global pandemic.
