2023 RSL Service Awards

Career Service Award

Tyler Cork

Tyler, a PhD Student in Bioengineering, works in Dan Ennis’, PhD, CMR lab. He has served for a number of years as the head of the RSL Trainee Council and was instrumental in breaching the multi-department divide and bringing the RSL community together for informational sessions and all manner of events, including, of course, softball!

Career Service Award

Laurel Hales

Laurel, a PhD Student in Electrical Engineering, works in the IMF Lab under Feliks Kogan, PhD, and is a guiding force in RSL. Among her many achievements, she spearheaded the SEED Outreach Program. Designed as a one year project, this radiology-based (and staffed!) science exploration for underserved middle schoolers has met with rave reviews and is now in its 3rd year!

2023 Outstanding Citizenship Service Award

Phil Adamson and Ananya Goyal

The 2023 Celebrants for Outstanding Citizenship and Service to the RSL Community are Phil Adamson, PhD Student in Electrical Engineering, and Ananya Goyal, PhD and Masters Student in Bioengineering. They have displayed the above-and-beyond spirit while taking on leadership of this year’s RSL Trainee Council. We can credit both for organizing Alumni and Industry Talks, RSL Town Halls, trainee-representation at faculty meetings, RSL socials like pizza nights and holiday parties, journal clubs, and above all, a full summer’s work to make the RSL REU program a success!
