Jan 23, 2020: Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) established in 2009 is one of the largest forums in Precision Medicine (2500+ attendees, 400+ speakers, 7 tracks). The 2020 Silicon Valley chapter had a strong focus on AI and Data science. The session, "Data Science in Healthcare and Health Systems" on 23rd (Track 2) was chaired by Somalee Datta, PhD, Director of Research IT. In addition to a Q&A interview, she presented on her team's efforts in building a Data Science platform at Stanford Medicine.

Talk abstract: At Stanford Medicine, we envision a world in which we can prevent disease before it strikes and cure it decisively if it does. We believe that the ability to harness vast biomedical datasets will pave the way to understanding human health and make Precision Health a reality. This talk will present our scientist centric ecosphere that is built ground up to fast track large scale analysis using sensitive data in an ethical and secure manner.
