Clinical Clerkship in Community Health of the Underserved
A new clerkship is expected to be primarily in outpatient medicine, with students rotating in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and other clinics in the Bay Area that care for indigent populations, including homeless patients, farmworkers, refugees, and other uninsured patients, providing students with a tangible exposure to the medically underserved.
- 4-week immersive experience at sites throughout theBay Area with a syllabus covering health disparities in community health practice.
- Launched as an elective but anticipated to become a required clerkship for all Stanford medical students.
