The Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging honors Helen Nadel, MD

During its 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting, held June 11-15, 2021 the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) announced Helen Nadel, MD, director of pediatric nuclear medicine at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford and clinical professor at the Department of Radiology, as vice president-elect for SNMMI. Dr. Nadel was also honored with two additional distinctions, the first of which was being recognized as one of the 17 newly inducted 2021 SNMMI Fellows. The SNMMI Fellowship was established in 2016 to recognize distinguished service to the society as well as exceptional achievement in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. It is among the most prestigious formal recognitions available to long-time SNMMI members. Secondly, Dr. Nadel received the Conway-Treves Senior Investigator Award, given to senior scientists and physician-scientists who have contributed greatly to the subspecialty of pediatric nuclear medicine as a scientist, teacher, mentor and leader, or who have contributed substantially to the work of the Society of Nuclear Medicine or the SNMMI Pediatric Imaging Council.
