Dr. Wintermark's Comments Highlighted on TODAY

Dr. Max Wintermark, Professor of Radiology and Chief of Neuroradiology, commented on a recent imaging study of teens addicted to smartphones that was highlighted on TODAY. In the study, the brain scans of the addicted teens showed a chemical imbalance in an area of the brain shown to play a role in addictive behavior. The study went on to show that with cognitive behavioral therapy, the chemical imbalance seemed to correct itself.
