"Stanford PCCM supports the Black Lives Matter movement, and is committed to fighting racial injustice in our community and country. We recognize institutionalized racism as a public health crisis, and are opposed to morally corrupt leadership who fail to take action. Our division stands firm in supporting diversity in the many forms it takes, and is dedicated to promoting the health of our patients and the communities we serve. We additionally recognize the disparities that persist within the halls of academic medicine, and will fight to enable every member of our faculty, fellowship, residency, and student body to find success. Our division stands united in demanding that action be taken to build a more diverse and inclusive environment for our patients, trainees, and faculty.”
Critical Care Diversity Council
Multidisciplinary collaboration of Stanford intensivists from Pulmonary, Anesthesia, Neurocritical Care, Emergency Critical Care, and Critical Care Medicine faculty, fellows, and administrators. Monthly meetings to discuss diversity and inclusion initiatives, promote anti-racism education, and contribute to diverse recruitment and retention within the critical care division. Integration with Stanford Department of Medicine and University-wide efforts to promote education, scholarship, and professional development in diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic medicine.

Our Division's commitment to Diversity was recently recognized by the American Thoracic Society. We are excited to share how recruiting and promoting a diverse faculty while also serving the community is a shared vision for our team, and vital to our success. Stanford Medicine’s division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine is comprised of clinicians, scientists, and scholars dedicated to improving the lives of patients with serious lung and allergic diseases and those who are critically ill. The division’s overriding research mission supports basic science and innovative clinical approaches for the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of respiratory and allergic diseases and critical illness. Faculty, fellows, and trainees collaborate with investigators in science and clinical departments across the university and with faculty in divisions throughout Stanford Medicine’s Department of Medicine.
