Industry Affiliate Program

AI for Mental Health

Research Engagement Opportunities

The AI4MH Industry Affiliate Program offers tiered opportunities for collaboration across research, talent development, and strategic innovation in AI for mental health. Depending on their membership level, industry affiliates can participate in the following research-focused activities:

Collaborative Research Engagement

Regular and higher-tier members can support specific AI4MH research areas aligned with their interests (e.g., data-driven mental health diagnostics, digital biomarkers, neuroimaging, and clinical AI applications). This includes facilitated meetings with AI4MH faculty and researchers to shape and inform collaborative projects.

Visiting Scholars and Student Engagement

Associate and Strategic Members have the opportunity to establish visiting scholar programs with Stanford, bringing industry researchers into direct collaboration with the AI4MH community. These members also engage with Stanford students and postdocs through project mentoring, recruiting, and collaborative research initiatives. (Visiting Scholar fees apply.)

Support of AI4MH Flagship Projects

Strategic Members play a key role in advancing high-impact, large-scale AI4MH projects, such as developing foundation models for mental health or deploying clinical AI systems into real-world settings.

Educational Events and Site Visits

Strategic Members are invited to exclusive educational programs and site visits to Stanford and partner locations, fostering deeper engagement with ongoing research and development efforts. (Additional event-related fees may apply.)

Board Participation and Leadership Access

Strategic Members join the AI4MH Industry Affiliates Board, helping shape program priorities and gaining facilitated access to leaders across Stanford and partner institutions.

We welcome organizations of all sizes—from start-ups to global enterprises—to join us in building the future of AI for mental health through these collaborative opportunities.

Program Requirements

All Industry Affiliates follow the policies, principles, and procedures located here: Establishment of Industrial Affiliates and Related Membership-Supported Programs, for the establishment and operation of membership programs designed to promote a productive relationship between Stanford and industry.

Affiliate Program members may provide additional funding. All research results arising from the use of the additional funding will be shared with all program members and the general public. Affiliate Program members may request the additional funding be used to support a particular area of program research identified on the program’s website, or the program research of a named faculty member, as long as the faculty is identified on the program website as participating in the Affiliate Program. In either instance, the director of the Affiliate Program will determine how the additional funding will be used in the program’s research.
