1907 Trailblazer Award

Request for Applications

Projects must be grounded in the study of biological mechanisms underlying brain function, cognitive processes, and/or consciousness. 1907 Research supports projects for basic science in addition to near-term applications (e.g. disruptive technologies and potential clinical interventions).

Am I eligible?

  • Stanford criteria: Open to faculty on the UTL, NTL, MCL only
  • Applicants must be within ten years of the date when PhD/MD degree was awarded (whichever came later and with exceptions for maternity leave, paternity leave and other excused absences)
  • Applicants will have a strong track record of scientific publications relevant to their research program
  • Research applications may be related to but cannot be identical to any other currently funded projects

Application Process

Well-crafted and clearly-articulated proposals according to the Foundation guidelines should be submitted to the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences for review by Monday May 4 at 11:59PM.  

A committee will review all proposals and will nominate for submission to the Foundation the two applications that are most aligned with the Foundation goals.
