Behavioral Circadian Rhythms Sleep Disorders Specialty Clinic

The Behavioral Circadian Rhythms Sleep Disorders Specialty Clinic compliments the Medical Circadian Rhythms Sleep Disorders Specialty Clinic. It provides evidence-based assessment of circadian sleep-wake and activity rhythms, including actigraphy, behavioral rhythm tracking, and the possibility of dim-light melatonin onset testing. It educates patients about how circadian rhythms and daily behavioral patterns -- including sleep-wake, rest-activity, feeding-fasting, and light-dark – impact daytime functioning, sleep quality, and overall health. Finally, it teaches self-management approaches for improving nighttime sleep and daytime energy by helping individuals change the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physiological states of arousal that interfere with establishing strong circadian rhythms, thus optimizing overall functioning and quality of life.
