ALMA Clinic
Who We Are
The ALMA Clinic in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford Medicine provides mental health services to individuals ages 18+. ALMA stands for Anxiety, Life stressors, and Mood Adaptive treatment, reflecting our focus on anxiety and mood disorders and the way we adapt evidence-based treatments for Spanish-speakers and individuals of Latin-American descent.
We welcome all individuals, including those who identify as first-, second-, or third-generation (and up) Latino or Hispanic.
We are a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and a language advisor who provide an evidence-based and culturally competent space where people, including those who identify as Latino or Hispanic, can receive mental health care in their language of preference, whether in Spanish and/or English.
We work with individuals and their families to provide interdisciplinary, culturally-informed applications of evidence-based mental health care.
Clinical Services
All of our providers are able to provide care in both English and Spanish. Interpretation services for other languages are available. We provide:
- Psychiatric medication management
- Individual psychotherapy
- Group psychotherapy (upcoming availability)
- Consultation and collaboration with other clinics and providers for individual patients
- Virtual or (in certain cases) in-person appointments
We are currently able to provide short wait times or immediate availability for new and existing patients. We accept self-referrals as well as referrals from other providers. Our services are for patients that are currently based anywhere in California.
