Monther Abu-Remaileh
Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and of Genetics
Research Interests
We study the role of the lysosome in metabolic adaptation using subcellular omics approaches, functional genomics and innovative biochemical tools. We apply this knowledge to understand how lysosomal dysfunction leads to human diseases including neurodegeneration, cancer and metabolic syndrome.

Anne Brunet
Michele and Timothy Barakett Endowed Professor
Research Interests
Our lab studies the molecular basis of longevity. We are interested in the mechanism of action of known longevity genes, including FOXO and SIRT, in the mammalian nervous system. We are particularly interested in the role of these longevity genes in neural stem cells. We are also discovering novel genes and processes involved in aging using two short-lived model systems, the invertebrate C. elegans and an extremely short-lived vertebrate, the African killifish N. furzeri.

Amato J. Giaccia
Jack, Lulu and Sam Willson Professor, Professor of Radiation Oncology, Emeritus
Research Interests
During the last five years, we have identified several small molecules that kill VHL deficient renal cancer cells through a synthetic lethal screening approach. Another major interest of my laboratory is in identifying hypoxia-induced genes involved in invasion and metastases. We are also investigating how hypoxia regulates gene expression epigenetically.

Livnat Jerby
Assistant Professor of Genetics
Research Interests
Immune responses are highly orchestrated processes that span various interconnected regulatory modalities within and across cells. My lab develops high-throughput, quantitative, engineering-based, approaches to dissect multicellular immune dynamics at unprecedented scale, resolution, and depth, and identify new immunomodulating interventions at an accelerated pace.

Paul Salomon Mischel
Professor of Pathology and, by courtesy, of Neurosurgery
Research Interests
My research bridges cancer genetics, signal transduction and cellular metabolism as we aim to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive cancer development, progression, and drug resistance. We have made a series of discoveries that have identified a central role for ecDNA (extrachromosomal DNA) in cancer development, progression, accelerated tumor evolution and drug resistance.
