My research interests are to use clinical informatics to improve access to equitable care for children in under-served communities. My main areas of research interest currently include optimizing clinical informatics solutions for those with non-English preferred languages and improving interoperability between health systems, public health and community partners for pediatric patients and families.

My multidisciplinary research program is focused on (1) the detrimental effects of glucocorticoids, sarcopenia and inflammation on bone development in pediatric diseases, (2) the long-term effects of childhood cancer on bone and muscle quality, (3) the assessment of renal osteodystrophy using novel micro-imaging techniques, (4) the effects of vitamin D deficiency on physical function and cardiovascular disease, and (5) the evaluation of biomechanical interventions as anabolic bone therapies.

Research Interests
Dr. Lin's active NIH-funded research portfolio includes developing a novel patient-reported outcome measure for emergency asthma care; evaluating post-acute transitions and outcomes for high-risk populations; and enhancing health professions workforce retention. She uses mixed methods, including Medicare and Medicaid administrative data, to evaluate and improve the implementation of acute care delivery innovations.
