Miriam B. Goodman
Mrs. George A. Winzer Professor of Cell Biology
Research Interests
We study the molecular events that give rise to the sensation of touch and chemical stressors that compromise touch sensation in C. elegans. To do this, we use a combination of quantitative behavioral analysis, genetics, in vivo electrophysiology, and heterologous expression of ion channels. We collaborate with physicists and other physiologist to expand our experimental research.

Shreya Gupta
Postdoctoral Scholar, Cardiovascular Medicine
Research Interests
I am a biomedical researcher focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms governing vascular smooth muscle cell (SMC) behavior in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. My work investigates how signaling pathways, including Notch3 and Thrombospondin-1, regulate SMC phenotypic switching, fibrous cap stability, and plaque vulnerability in atherosclerosis, with the goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets to prevent heart attacks and strokes.
