Dr. Reece-Nguyen [he/him] is a pediatric anesthesiologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at Stanford Children’s Hospital where he serves as a diversity, equity, and inclusion leader in his department, throughout Stanford Medicine, and at the national level as the acting Vice-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia. As a cisgender gay man, Travis understands the importance of LGBTQIA+ advocacy work and the ever-increasing need for improved LGBTQIA+ medical education, focusing specifically on the value of gender-affirming perioperative care. Travis’ work promotes perioperative education and research efforts aimed at improving the healthcare experience for all transgender and gender-diverse adolescents.
