I use large-scale language analyses and machine learning to characterize disease risk, measure subjective well-being and mental health of populations, and enrich and test psychological theory. I focus on applications of these methods that inform public health and public policy, and to create health systems that are more responsive to mental illness.

Our group's interests are in improving patient safety, harnessing implementation science and medical simulation techniques for training, development, dissemination, implementation and study of these processes. We collaborate nationally and globally on implementation of emergency manuals (context relevant sets of cognitive aids or crisis checklists), for management of crises and freely share team training resources.
