Jon Bernstein
Professor of Pediatrics (Genetics) and, by courtesy, of Genetics
Clinical Focus
Autism, Developmental Disorders, Undiagnosed Diseases, Craniofacial Conditions, Craniosynostosis, Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate, Clinical Genetics and Genomics
Research Interests
My research is focused on the diagnosis, discovery and delineation of rare genetic conditions with a focus of neurodevelopmental disorders. This work includes the application of novel computational methods and multi-omics profiling (whole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing, metabolomics). I additionally participate in an interdisciplinary project to develop induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models of genetic neurodevelopmental disorders..

Stanley N. Cohen, MD
Kwoh-Ting Li Professor in the School of Medicine, Professor of Genetics and of Medicine
Research Interests
We study mechanisms that affect the expression and decay of normal and abnormal mRNAs, and also RNA-related mechanisms that regulate microbial antibiotic resistance. A small bioinformatics team within our lab has developed knowledge based systems to aid in investigations of genes.

Daniel Jarosz
Associate Professor of Chemical and Systems Biology and of Developmental Biology
Research Interests
My laboratory studies conformational switches in evolution, disease, and development. We focus on how molecular chaperones, proteins that help other biomolecules to fold, affect the phenotypic output of genetic variation. To do so we combine classical biochemistry and genetics with systems-level approaches. Ultimately we seek to understand how homeostatic mechanisms influence the acquisition of biological novelty and identify means of manipulating them for therapeutic and biosynthetic benefit.

Research Interests
The broad goal of my research interest is to identify intrinsic and extrinsic mediators of tumor growth and plasticity. My past research experiences will synergize with the expertise of Dr. Monte Winslow’s laboratory to allow the discovery of novel mechanisms of cancer progression. The integration of our molecular measurements with multiple types of ‘omics’ data will ultimately improve the diagnostic precision medicine.
