Current Research and Scholarly Interests Dr. Kummar?s research interests focus on developing novel therapies for cancer. She specializes in conducting pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic driven first-in-human trials tailored to make early, informed decisions regarding the suitability of novel molecular agents for further clinical investigation. Her studies integrate genomics and laboratory correlates into early phase trials. She is interested in alternate trial designs to facilitate rational drug selection based on human data and help expedite drug development timelines. She has published numerous articles in medical journals and serves on a number of national and international scientific committees.

Current Research and Scholarly Interests We develop statistical and machine learning frameworks to learn predictive, dynamic and causal models of gene regulation from heterogeneous functional genomics data.
Clinical Assistant Professor, Pathology
Current Research and Scholarly Interests My main interest is in understanding the biology of human neoplasms, using traditional histopathology, molecular genetic techniques, and other modalities. In particular, I am interested in soft tissue and genitourinary neoplasms, especially prostate cancer.
I am also interested in the classification and nomenclature of neoplasms and in practical research that helps us refine these, using a variety of techniques but still principally guided by histopathology.
I also work on developing next generation sequencing-based tests for genotyping tumors and in expanding the scope of this testing with the goal of identifying patients eligible for novel targeting therapies.

Maureen Lyles D'Ambrogio Professor
Current Research and Scholarly Interests We study cancer biology, intestinal stem cells (ISC), and angiogenesis. We use primary organoid cultures of diverse tissues for oncogene functional screening and therapeutics discovery. Angiogenesis projects include endothelial miRNA and GPCR ko mice, blood-brain barrier regulation, stroke therapeutics and anti-angiogenic cancer therapy. ISC projects apply organoid culture and ko mice to injury-inducible vs homeostatic stem cells and symmetric division mechanisms.
