Ivana Maric
Research Scientist, Pediatrics - Neonatology
Bio Ivana Maric received her B.S. degree from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She received her M.S and Ph.D. from Rutgers University in 2000 and 2006, respectively. 2006 to 2010 she was a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University. From 2010 to 2013 she was with Aviat Networks, Santa Clara, CA. From 2013 to 2017 she was at Ericsson Research, Santa Clara, CA. During Spring 2016 she was an adjunct faculty at Santa Clara University. Since 2017, she is a Research Scientist at the Prematurity Research Center at Stanford University, School of Medicine.
Her research focuses on applying machine learning to improving maternal and perinatal health. Previously, her research has focused on information theory, a mathematical discipline tightly related to statistics and machine learning. She co-edited and co-authored a book, a monograph, two book chapters and 14 journal and 43 papers conference papers on the topic. From 2009 to 2012 she served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Communications Letters. She is currently an Associate Editor for the Trans. on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies. She is a co-recipient of the 2013 IEEE Communications Society Best Tutorial Paper Award. -

Current Role at Stanford Mike McAuliffe is an Instructional Technologist with Stanford Medicine's Educational Technology team. He supports a wide range of educational technology operations, projects, and initiatives in support of teaching, learning, and research.
Mike joined the School of Medicine in August 2012 and served as Director of the Educational Technology team from 2014 to 2015. In his current role, Mike collaborates with a team that offers instructional technology expertise, project management, classroom technology training, and media production services. This team also collaborates with Stanford Medicine faculty to design and produce video content for online/hybrid courses at Stanford Medicine, online courses for continuing medical education, online materials for residents and fellows, and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Distributed Flips offered on OpenEdX, Coursera, Khan Academy, and Venture Lab. -

Stephen Lawrence McKenna, MD

Bio Dr. Stephen McKenna is a founding member of the Stanford Partnership for Spinal Cord Injury and Repair. Dr. McKenna is the Chief of the Rehabilitation Trauma Center; as well as, the site director of the Advanced Spinal Cord Injury Medicine Fellowship at SCVMC.
As a Neurocritical Care physician, he specializes in ventilator dependent Spinal Cord and Traumatic Brain Injury; as well as, neuromuscular diseases. Dr. McKenna has practiced for more than 10 years and is an invited reviewer for the Journal Critical Care as well as Spinal Cord - Nature. He has led first-in-human clinical trials ranging from vaccines for HIV to stem cell derived oligodendrocyte progenitor cell based therapies for spinal cord injury.
