Current Research and Scholarly Interests My lab is focused on brain function, development and repair with emphasis on regeneration to prevent and cure blindness.

We also study the neural circuits that control visual fear and are developing tools to re-map them and treat anxiety disorders.

The specific conditions we aim to understand and develop therapeutic strategies for include: retinal and optic nerve damage in glaucoma, and disorders of sensory-limbic function, such as depression and PTSD.
